“From what we get, we can make a living; what we give, however, makes a life.” ~ Arthur Ashe
Many of us try to find happiness in areas that are temporary and only give momentary satisfaction like materialistic items, trips and accomplishments. Yes, these things are good; however, there is a deeper way to find happiness and value in your life. Instead of trying to find happiness by seeking out these temporary sources, try giving back to others instead. This could be through any form of volunteering, nonprofit work or by helping someone out in need. The reward of making a life change in someone else’s life bypasses fleeting happiness. It also gives you a wider perspective to the challenges other people face. This insight also makes you more grateful and happy with the current situation you have. This deeper sense of joy is more fulfilling and creates sustainable happiness.
